About Us

We met in September of 2009. Both of us were new to New Orleans at the time. Dustin was in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Rescue Swimmer and I was at Loyola University New Orleans in my first professional job after gaining my Masters in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas. 17359_233289532778_6656658_n.jpg

Dustin was into triathlons and signed up for his first Ironman within the first couple months of us dating. I was clueless as to what he was talking about. I started to run and then decided to sign up for my first half marathon. He was patient and taught me a lot along the way. As Dustin taught me more about the sport, I thought I can do this too! I really caught the bug after his first Ironman in Florida!

We have traveled all over because of triathlons; from Key West to Puerto Rico, to Brasil, Kona and others, we have had an amazing few years together! Follow our journey as we continue tackling new distrances or PR’ing on old ones and making the most out of any given day.

Found your blog searching for athena class race results…crazy!!!
I am doing Galveston 70.3 in April 2015, are you doing it again? I too work at UTMB in the MICU.

    1. Hi Sandy! Thanks for stopping by… I plan on doing it, right now… but, it depends what I end up doing for an Iron distance race next year. If it’s Texas, I’ll have to pass on it but I’ll be there to cheer people on (as we will host a house full of triathletes again!) 🙂
