Yesterday I started my journey on becoming an Ironman. May 19, 2012 I will be ‘racing’ Ironman Texas with Team RWB. Needless to say it means I’ve taken up a part time job in training for this endeavor. I’m excited and scared and know that sacrifices will be made. I’m sure many will not have a clue as to why I will be putting in so many hours but they’ll get it, sooner or later… or maybe I should just have them watch this:
One day two, I’m already battling a migraine from hell… but I’m pushing through it. Tomorrow, all will be right with the world as the gym I go to opens back up for the spring semester (Thank goodness!) – although we all know the gym will be packed for the next month and then it will simmer down.
So as it is the beginning of the new year, here are some of my goals (I hate the term resolution):
- Finish my Ironman
- PR in my 1/2 and full marathon times
- PR in my fall 70.3 race – looking at Rev3 Cedar Point so family can be there!
- Remain as injury free as possible although I am starting out with my runner’s knee still being temperamental
- Enjoy each day to the fullest while having the best year ever!
Yay! Ironman training (and racing) is something special. Enjoy it!!! :)And do REV3 CP (yep, I'm selfish and want to meet you, what's wrong with that???)Happy New Year!
Whoop whoop IMTX! See you there!! Yes – the juicer is the Sh*t! Love it! I can't WAIT to try out your kind bars! I love making my own nutrition! 🙂
Colleen – it's a pretty for sure deal. My cousin said stay with us for a couple days after – all the winerys are by his house and he has his own cellar… how can I turn it down?! lol. Plus I'm counting on my parents coming up with the bus so I have a place to stay! haha. Chloe – You have some great little recipes that pop up – love it! 🙂 Yes, you will! Can't wait to get there – spectated this year, course is literally 2 minutes from another cousin's house… notice a theme?! lolHappy New Year!!
GO Donna! I am so excited for you! Yes, the training will be challening (mostly just from trying to fit it all in) but in the end it is SO worth it. It changes your outlook on things you think you can or can't accomplish in life. Hard to explain but it really does change your perspective. Can't wait to follow you along the way 🙂
Didn't know you joined Team RWB…me too! Looking forward to following your training and hope to meet up at Rev3CP!!
